Why did Hanley Ramirez sign with the Marlins for 6 years and 70 million?

yeah, 70 mil sounds a ton to a guy who's making 435k this year, but he would be getting $10 mil per year for the next 3 years in arbitration and he knows the Marlins isn't going to sign any big splashy free agents and contend. so why sign for the next 6 years when he can get out in 2011 as a FA and sign a mega $200+ million deal?
