Ipod earphones? are ipods really as great as i heard i like every1 has one?

ok i just got an ipod bout 2 weeks ago....i love it/its the new ipod min nano one. nd i dont kno much bout it or ipods but is it tru that the earphones that come with it isnt really good.cuz b4 i got it i had an mp3player nd i got gumys for my mp3 nd i love them (the only earphones that would stay in my ears) and to me the sonds is better. i mean dont they break easy or sumthin cuz all my friend ended up gettin a new one.
